Structure

Core courses

Eleven core courses are divided into 2 modules. The first technical module will provide tools and skills that will be applied during the second business module, which will focus on how to leverage data in the various sectors of the business.

Teaching activities include lectures, case studies and technical labs. An exam is scheduled at the end of each course to assess the participants’ level of learning.

Digital Talks

4+ opportunities for discussion with international managers. The purpose of the meeting is to share experiences, business cases and best practices.

Pre – Courses

Brief courses on the fundamentals of STEM that will provide a necessary basic knowledge for the technical part of master.

Focus Sessions

5 meetings with managers, experts and professionals on cross-cutting data-driven business challenges and topics such as: Design Thinking, Data Ethics, Cybersecurity, Sustainability and Privacy.

Residentials on Campus

Two on Campus (Bologna) Residentials (Thursday, Friday and Saturday) allow the participants to strengthen the value of personal interaction with the classmates and faculty. You will take part in Workshops, Leadership talks, and Company Visits at prestigious companies that are part of the School’s Business Network.

Project work

The core of this master’s program is Project Work—a remarkable project to apply the skills and knowledge gained throughout the course. Working in small groups, participants will take a raw data set and turn it into a thriving business project, guided and supported by a team of experts.

Today’s digital technologies and devices such as smartphones, smart products, the Internet of Things (IoT) provide companies with abundant data about consumer behavior prior, during and post transactions. This course explores how to extract useful information from relevant data to garner important insights to guide more effective decision making.

The digital transformation is determining significant changes in operations and supply chain management (SCM) processes. Technologies such as Internet of Things (IoT) and Cyber Physical Systems, artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, cyber security, data analytics, block chain and cloud technology are radically transforming production and distribution systems. This course aims to investigate these transformations to understand the firms’ ability of gathering and analysing information about their environment can generate significant value to the SCM processes.

This course explores the ways in which new technologies are re-shaping the financial services industry. The course will provide insights on how blockchain, AI and deep learning can affect the financial industries. Students will also gain an understanding of how these technologies can affect the competitive landscape of the financial sector.

Digital technologies are reshaping companies and industries. This dramatic change is forcing firms to adapt to and embrace this change. This course will help you staying ahead of this radical transformation by providing you with a more clear understanding of this new landscape and the strategic choices and tradeoffs it presents.

This course offers students the chance to understand and analyze data. We will explore the fundamentals of data exploration and we will apply these tools to business problems.

The course deals with the assessment of the financial consequences of managerial decisions.
More in details, it tackles different aspects of the topic: the short term impact on profitability, the short term impact on the financial position, the long term impact on the economic value and the strategic impact of the decision.
This differentiated approach allows to manage the trade offs among different dimensions (profitability, financial position and strategy) in order to take more consistent decisions.
Furthermore, part of the program is focused on the exploiting of financial and strategic data through mathematical and statistical approaches with the aim of increasing the effectiveness of managerial decisions.

Visani Franco

This course will cover the fundamental of machine learning for medium and large dimensional data sets. During the course you’ll explore how different methods can be used to analyse data, classify information and make predictions. This course will also provide you with some understanding on how some machine learning tools can operate.

Riccardo Tesselli

This course will be focused on where data is stored, where are data housing and data lakes, what do all different domains do and mean and how we can relate to them. During this course you will understand how they change the way we do business and will get to know the potential barriers that data storage can generate in your business.

This course is designed for those who work with data and want to deepen their knowledge on ways to make effective visualizations and dashboards. You will learn how visual memory works, how to use different chart types appropriately in order to answer specific questions, and how to design dashboards using visual best practices. COMMUNITY AND CAREER DEVELOPMENT

During the Master, a series of seminars with head-hunters and HR managers are offered, to provide tools and resources to contribute to your career development and how to enter the job market in leadership positions.

Once the Master is ended, it is possible to join the activities dedicated to the Community, to further increase your own network. Furthermore, meetings open to the entire BBS Community are periodically scheduled with managers, entrepreneurs and guests, focusing on the different scenarios of a constantly evolving society and market.

The registration fee for the Master’s course on a company basis is 17.900 Euros + VAT.

The registration fee for the Master’s course on an individual basis is 14.900 Euros + VAT.
