Management Frontiers

Completing a course at Bologna Business School helps develop skills that are crucial for creating a strong professional profile. However, it is important to continually update these skills to adapt to the evolving dynamics of the competitive business environment.

Soft skills serve as a solid foundation for navigating fluid and increasingly complex professional environments—this embodies the essence of the new “Management Frontiers” Open Program.

The course, delivered through on campus, online and blended sessions (simultaneously online and in-person), is designed to develop competencies and abilities that are transversal across all career paths, with a dual focus: on the one hand, self-management, including time management, personal balance, and emotional regulation — even in intercultural contexts; on the other hand, managing others, through tools and approaches for leading, motivating, and developing teams and collaborators. Through targeted content and applied learning activities, the program provides practical tools in self management, coaching, mentorship, and leadership — all of which are now essential for managers who must tackle complexity with effectiveness and innovation.

The hybrid program includes 4 online sessions led by highly qualified faculty and 2 on campus sessions (the first on campus session will be delivered in blended mode), designed to apply the skills learned and to foster peer interaction and networking within the community.

COURSES

In an increasingly complex world, collaboration has become a necessity. However, simply bringing people together around a real or virtual table is not enough to achieve true teamwork. The Team Emotional Intelligence model, developed by Vanessa Druskat through thirty years of academic research, provides practical answers for leaders on how to build a collaborative, high-performing, and sustainable culture.
During this session, we will delve into the model and identify some areas where we can try to apply these concepts within our own teams.
The event will include an exclusive Q&A session with Vanessa Druskat herself.

In this session, we will discuss how individuals’ strategies, organizational factors and cultural factors need to be aligned to create the optimal environmental conditions to experience success both at work and in the personal life. In particular, we will examine potential individual decisions that can support us in our journey to pursue a sustainable career in the respect of our preferences and of those of our invisible
stakeholders.

This session equips global leaders to decode cultural complexity and harness strategic tensions as levers of performance. Drawing on key intercultural frameworks — Hofstede, Trompenaars, and the GLOBE study — participants will learn to interpret cultural patterns, calibrate decisions across diverse environments, and lead cohesive, high-performing teams. Leveraging the Polarity Management model, they’ll turn dilemmas — such as global vs. local or control vs. autonomy — into dynamic forces for innovation, resilience, and impact in global leadership.

Starting from the participants’ experiences, we will discuss what worked in the practical application of some of the norms discussed in the first session, with the goal of formalizing an intervention protocol to help leaders apply team emotional intelligence.
Having a reference model and setting up a consistent, non-episodic approach promotes the creation of a collaborative culture that drives performance.
Building such a culture involves defining operational processes and practices that are repeated over time
to establish a habit of “collaboration that works.”
