Technology & Innovation Management

The strategic management of innovation

Innovation is a fundamental aspect for the growth of companies and it’s crucial to achieve success and the sustainability of the competitive advantage.

The challenge of innovation though is often tackled in the absence of clear strategies or the setting up of multi-faceted processes for choosing and organizing R&D and new product development projects.  Instead, successful innovators use well defined methods, techniques and management tools.  Innovation development should therefore become the focus of managers’ interest, seeing it with continuity and as something that has strategic relevance. Being able to promote and manage innovation today is a key skill in the profile of each manager.

The “Technology and Innovation Management” Executive Program allows tackling these challenges, providing the necessary skills to face the issues connected to the strategic, organizational and operational management of innovation, with a systemic approach.

The focus is on the tools and methods to successfully manage the entire cycle design, development and marketing of new products and services.

The course analyzes in depth topics connected to the definition of technological strategies, the identification of internal and external sources of new ideas, the optimization of the range of project portfolio, the efficient organization of the process to develop new products, Design Thinking and understanding customers’ needs, protecting the value created by innovation. Participation in the course will allow participants to strategically analyze and experience the most advanced trends of Industry 4.0 technologies (such as IoT, Robotics, AI).

The program consists of 4 modules for a total of  8 days of classroom activities.

If you’re interested in tackling the challenges of innovation in the future, contact the course director to consider your enrollment.

" "The challenge of innovation requires to invest in the generation of advanced knowledge and the exploration of original paths, to create new value for customers, by way of improved or radically changed products, processes and services. Such need is not limited to a few specific industries or particular categories of companies, but it’s widely present and shared. The new technological and competitive dynamics actually give us an unquestionable certainty: if a company doesn’t innovate its product both incrementally and radically, sooner or later that innovation will be introduced by a competitor. At the end of the course you’ll be able to understand better the process to define an innovation strategy and the implications for the optimal management of the projects aimed at developing new products and services".
