A TRANSFORMATIVE JOURNEY: STRATEGIES AND METHODS FOR GROWTH AND INNOVATION

The idea of selling or acquiring a company or undertaking extraordinary transactions with the company’s capital is a significant moment for an entrepreneur, introducing a range of potential opportunities and challenges. This course provides essential technical skills and hands-on experience to effectively manage mergers and acquisitions. This program guides participants through a tactical and strategic journey, emphasizing crucial aspects of decision making and leadership in M&A.

Intended for entrepreneurs, managers and professionals interested in learning M&A techniques and contributing to the success of such transactions, the course follows a “before – during – after” approach.

Before: from idea to action” explores how the idea for an M&A deal (both sell-side and buy-side) comes about and what steps are required to bring it to fruition: from developing the idea, to assessing its context, to understanding the market and selecting the team of M&A experts who will manage the project.

During: how to manage the M&A process” explores the crucial activities, strategies, and ways to successfully guide the implementation of the project, covering both technical and negotiation aspects.

After: integration strategies and tactics” focuses on the dynamics following M&A transactions (sale, acquisition, merger etc.), offering participants tools and experiences to transform post-M&A organizational challenges into opportunities for growth and innovation.

The course offers an interactive and discussion-based experience, where each module is not just a lecture, but a significant and pragmatic step in the professional journey of those tackling an M&A project.

" Companies, constantly evolving and transforming, face crucial challenges to their long-term prosperity. M&A transactions represent a key moment in this evolutionary process: from the birth of the idea, through the complexities of the transaction, to the crucial post-acquisition phase. The undisputed importance of the planning and contractual stages does not neglect the last phase, i.e. post-acquisition. Here we offer practical tools and experiences to facilitate the integration process and effectively navigate a new organizational structure. Participants will gain key skills to transform post-M&A integration into a springboard for success and innovation, applicable directly within their companies. "

Structure

The program consists of 6 hybrid-mode learning sessions, held over the weekend.

The dates of the sessions are as follows:

  • June 15, 2024 – 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. – ONLINE
  • June 28, 2024 – 9:15 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. – ON CAMPUS
  • June 29, 2024 – 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. – ONLINE
  • July 3, 2024 – 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. – ONLINE
  • July 12, 2024 – 9:15 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. – ON CAMPUS

 

3 modules will be covered:

  1. “BEFORE: from idea to action” – how the decision to initiate an M&A process germinates for the entrepreneur
  2. “DURING: how to manage the M&A process” – what is the step-by-step path of an M&A transaction
  3. “AFTER: integration strategies and tactics” – how integration between organizations occurs after the M&A deal

The learning sessions will be interactive with participants and will feature a mix of face-to-face lectures, study of real cases, classroom discussion, and testimonials from both M&A experts and corporate figures who have been involved in M&A experiences.

FEES

The registration fee for enrollments from companies and institutions is 2.900 euros (plus VAT) to be paid by the start date of the course.

The registration fee for individual enrollments is 2.300 euros (plus VAT) to be paid by the start date of the course.

The fee includes attendance in the program, all the study material available through the online platform and access to Bologna Business School services, which include a personal account for the Alma wi-fi, access to the study areas, and access to the indoor gym.

 

Discounts are available:

The course is reserved for a maximum of 20-25 participants.

FAQs

At the end of the course, a participation certificate is issued (upon reaching 80% of classroom hours).

The documents used in the classroom and any further reading or exercises will be uploaded to our platform, whose credentials will be delivered in the classroom.

Should a group of colleagues wish to participate in the program, it is possible to contact the Program Manager to evaluate an ad hoc participation price.

Our short courses do not require a specific course of study. It is important to have a few years of work experience behind you that can help you, inside the classroom, by bringing real cases dealt with and solutions adopted during your work.
