Eleonora Monaco is Assistant Professor of Financial Accounting at the Department of Management of the University of Bologna. In addition, she is Invited Assistant Professor at Católica Porto Business School (Portugal), where she worked as Assistant Professor from 2017 to 2021 and active researcher at the Research Centre in Management and Economics (CEGE).
She holds a PhD in Management at the University of Chieti-Pescara, and worked as Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Accounting & Capital Markets at Capital Markets Cooperative Research Centre in Sydney. She has been Visiting Scholar at University of Edinburgh Business School (UK), Queensland University of Technology (Australia) and Norwich Business School of University of East Anglia (UK). Her research area is mainly focused on Capital Market-based research in Accounting with particular focus on the impact of financial and non-financial disclosure. Her main topics of interests include: Earnings Quality, Narrative Accounting, M&A, Sustainability (ESG, and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion).
She has published in international journals such as: Accounting in Europe, The European Journal of Finance, Pacific-Pasin-Finance Journal, International Review of Financial Analysis, Finance Research Letters. Moreover, she is member of the Editorial Boards of The International Journal of Accounting, and Accounting in Europe. Among other activities, she held the role of Liaison Officer at European Capital Markets Cooperative Research Centre, and she currently serves as Continental Network Officer for the British Academy of Management (BAM), Financial Management Group.
