Lidia Mascio, Master in HR & Organization

5 July 2021

“The Master in HR & Organization at BBS represents a real journey to discover one’s own potential and ambitions, thanks also to a strong culture of peer-to-peer feedback, an important distinctive point of the Master’s”. Lidia Mascio, Junior Recruiter at Humanoo, chose the HR & Organization Master’s at BBS for its innovative approach in the human resources sector, for its interdisciplinarity and the special relationship with businesses, but she also found an invaluable human and professional dialogue.

My university journey started with a degree in Economic Sciences from the University of Siena. And it was here, during my final year, thanks also to a brief experience in the Placement & Career Service office, that I came into contact with the HR departments of major local and national companies, and I realized that my passion is managing human capital in companies.

After graduating, I decided to spend a year in England to improve my language skills and prepare for a specialization in HR with a strong international focus.

After completing the first phase of the Master in HR & Organization at BBS, I started an internship at the Headquarters of the Chiesi Group, where I supported the Talent Acquisition team in the search and selection of professionals for the main business functions at corporate level and for the R&D world. I also dealt with employer branding initiatives both at national and international level and took part in strategic projects in which I was involved as part of the international core teams including the main Chiesi affiliates worldwide. As of today, I have recently embarked on a new adventure as a Junior Recruiter at Humanoo, an international digital health start-up with main offices in Berlin and Paris. I work across the board on search and selection for all company teams, specifically for junior and middle-level positions.

I decided to continue my training because I believe that investing in yourself and in your training is a strategic choice that pays off in the long run. I was strongly motivated to embark on a path that would allow me to acquire a complete understanding of the HR world, with cutting-edge methodologies and tools, in order to gain greater awareness in building my career within a company. I chose the BBS Master’s after a period of active scouting of various Master’s courses, both in Italy and abroad. I found it particularly interesting not only for its innovative approach and the acknowledgments it has received nationally and internationally, but also for its uniqueness: it is the only master’s course of its kind in Italy to be taught entirely in English. I also found an excellent balance between theory and practice, thanks to testimonials from industry professionals and project works carried out in multicultural teams that allow you to test your understanding and resolution of real business cases. Equally important for my choice was the strong network with companies that BBS has been able to build over the years, thanks to the quality of the courses designed for graduates and professionals.

Among the strengths of the Master’s, I must certainly mention the international and multicultural nature of the class and faculty, an element that represents a great added value, not only in terms of quality of the teaching and work done, but also in terms of innovation. Another strong point is the great attention paid to current trends in the HR field and areas beyond, a feature that has allowed us to look with greater awareness and evaluative spirit at issues revolving around the digital transformation and the future of work. What I find particularly beautiful and interesting is the fact that this Master’s program is a true all-round growth experience, aimed not only at strengthening the participants’ hard skills but also and above all their soft skills. For these reasons, the Master in HR & Organization at BBS represents a real journey to discover one’s own potential and ambitions, as well as an invaluable opportunity to experiment, to put oneself to the test and acquire greater self-awareness, as people and as professionals. All this thanks also to a strong culture of peer-to-peer feedback, another important distinctive point of the Master’s.

Finally, there is the unique context in which the Master’s takes place: when you join the BBS Community you become part of a big family! A family of incredible professionals, with varied backgrounds and experiences, with whom you can establish a virtuous exchange of perspectives and a valuable dialogue in order to act as true promoters of innovation in the company. Being part of the BBS Community means participating actively and concretely in the growth of other members, with a view to mutual personal and professional development and enhancement of the industrial fabric of which we are a part.
