Innovation Talks. Alon Wolf

THE FUTURE OF ROBOTICS MEETS BBS

November 21st – 6 p.m. – Bologna Business School – Via degli Scalini 18 – Bologna

Alon Wolf, Director and Founder of Biorobotics and Biomechanics Lab at Technion, Israel Institute of Technology, will be a guest of Bologna Business School for the second Innovation Talk of the Fall Edition. His speech New Frontiers in Robotic Technologies, will focus on the latest advances in the field of robotics. The event is organized in collaboration with Philip Morris Italia.

Professor Wolf, one of the world’s leading experts in robotics, is best known for his robotic snake, designed to be used in urban search and rescue operations. Based on this technology, the company Medrobotics, co-founded by Alon Wolf, has developed a medical snake robot called Flex®, used worldwide to provide surgeons with single-site access to hard-to-reach anatomical locations. Alon Wolf showed his snake robots, winners of the ‘Best Technology’ award respectively in 2012 and 2014, to Barack Obama and other world leaders in 2013, during the President’s visit to Israel.

The goal of Alon Wolf’s research is to develop theories in bio-kinematics and biomechanics, applicable to medical robotics and biorobotic. During his workshop at BBS, Alon Wolf will address the topics of Artificial Intelligence, Industry 4.0 and the main gaps and challenges that still prevent robots from being in every home.
