Alon Wolf, Director of Biorobotics and Biomechanics Lab at Technion, Israel Institute of Technology, is one of the world’s leading experts in the field of robotics and its application to medical robotics and biomechanics.
Alon Wolf earned his academic studies at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Israel Institute of Technology, obtaining his Ph.D. in 2002.
Immediately after obtaining a research doctorate, he entered the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) as a Post-Doctoral Research Associate.
In March 2006, at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Israel Institute Technology, he founded a new research laboratory, the “Biorobotics and Biomechanics Lab” (BRML). The goal of research in BRML is to develop theories in bio-kinematics and biomechanics, as well as to apply these theories to medical and biorobotic robotics. Alon Wolf’s work has been published in many important books and magazines.
He is the co-inventor and co-founder of Medrobotics and is an Associate Editor for the prestigious journal of Clinical Biomechanics. He obtained numerous research awards and was elected Distinguished Lecturer at 2016-2017 IEEE Engineering in Medicine & Biology Society.
His snake for urban research and rescue and his surgical snake were elected “Best Technology” of 2012 and 2014.
