Giulia La Volpe, Master in Digital Marketing and Communication

25 June 2020

From Bologna to Netherlands, Giulia La Volpe, born in 1989, is an Alumna of the Master in Digital Marketing and Communication who has gained years of experience in the sector of online and offline communication, marketing and digital PR.

What is your professional path?

Right after my degree in Communication & Media at the University of Bologna in 2012, I decided to leave Italy in order to leave and work abroad and I’ve moved first to London then to Paris. My professional route born initially in conjunction with the hospitality field then shifted towards the world of marketing and communication in 2016 and embraced this last one into a profession as well as a passion

Why did you decide to continue training and how did you choose BBS?

In 2016 I came back to Bologna for family reasons and I was greatly keen on taking further my University education. I was feeling the need to strengthen my competencies and knowledge with focused studies on Digital marketing and I spent much time carefully researching the ideal study course matching my needs and taught in English, something I couldn’t renounce. The Marketing, Communications and New Media Master at BBS responded excellently to what I was I was looking for.

What do you think are the strong points of the Master?

With no doubts, the professional realities able to be discovered via the selected Master and the chance to experience them for the very first time make the most solid strength of the Master. Nevertheless, and what personally meant a lot, the strong international vibes amongst students, events, conferences, professors and analyzed case studies had a great motivational and eye-opening impact.

Short and long term goals?

I moved to the Netherlands for work purposes in 2018 and I’m currently working as Public Relations and Events Coordinator for Trust International (digital accessories Company) and I love my job and my life here so I believe there will be no final return to Italy this time (but never say never!). Definitely, as a short-term objective, I have the wish to go visiting Italy and finally see my family again after many months without seeing each other’s excepts for video calls. A flight to Bologna will be the first thing done as soon as possible.

What would you recommend to a future BBS student?

Choose carefully your course study according to subjects, exams and relative future possibilities and be always pro-active and enthusiast in engaging and learning during the lessons. BBS has the chance to support and advise you both during and after the course but it’s up to the student to get the most out of it and consider each right edge and not-to-be-missed occasions. Be always on the watch!
