BBS and BOBST: excellent results for the marketing students in the company

24 April 2017

Excellent results and news from the world of marketing: the long and fruitful collaboration between Bologna Business School and BOBST – one of the largest, international manufacturing companies – is today at the heart of a project that features BBS students of the Master in Marketing, Communication & New Media.

On 27th March 2017, BBS professors and representatives of the BOBST management team met, at the Florence manufacturing plant, to assess the work carried out by the three groups of students. For two months, as part of their curricular training, the teams have analyzed the company and then proposed a new Business Model for BOBST, one able to maximize the company’s activities and their presence on the market.

“For the third consecutive year the Swiss company BOBST has welcomed the students: they were able to visit the company, meet the managers and present proposals concerning a real case. Usually, the management submits it 5 to 6 weeks prior to the date of the visit”, Alessandro Lelli, professor of B2M Marketing at BBS, explained.

“This year too the solutions that were presented raised the interest of the current management.”

“At the same time, the work that was carried out was rewarding for the students, who had been confronted with a complex challenge, and a very exciting one as well. So, we all appreciated the company, BOBST, and its management for their commitment to strengthen the close collaboration with BBS and their willingness to offer the school and its students growth opportunities, something that is hard to find elsewhere. Furthermore, this year too BOBST is available to host a few Master’s students for the internship that will follow the theoretical part of their course.

We’re very satisfied with the quality of the presentations, the students’ creativity and their commitment to achieve sustainable results: the three presentations featured different perspectives and an interesting overview of the possible improvements of the current BOBST strategies”, Matteo Cardinotti, Managing Director at BOBST Florence, confirmed.

Finally, Federico d’Annunzio, Strategic Product Marketing Director of BOBST BU WF, added: “The ideas that were presented have shown the high level of skills and quality of the students, in addition to a mature approach to the business. The long-term marketing solutions are realistic, focused on competitive business models. We believe our expectations were fully met”.

“We received good quality presentations and innovative ideas: an excellent job.”

Frederic Vexo, in charge of Research/Innovation at BOBST, concluded: “The students presented high quality projects, with fresh and out-of-the-box concepts that could inspire our future strategies for the management of the industrial scenario“.
