Full professor in Urban Technique and Planning at the Department of Architecture at the University of Bologna, she currently holds the position of Alma Mater’s Vice-Rector. She is president of the Clust-ER Urban Economy of the Emilia-Romagna Region and a member of the BoD of the FIU, ICSC, Ce.U.B. Interfaith Museum of Bertinoro, Bottrigari foundations.

She carries out her research in urban and territorial planning, with particular reference to the themes of urban and rural regeneration, sustainability and nature-based solutions, urban health, relationships between transport and land use, social housing and inclusion, participation, and innovative governance models. She coordinates several Horizon and Interreg projects and is responsible for the UNIBO research team in several European projects. She is also the scientific head of several conventions within the third mission on sustainability assessment of uses and transformations induced by planning tools.

She is the author and co-author of more than 150 scientific publications.
