Mary Najjuma, is an Alumna of the Global MBA in Green Energy and Sustainable Businesses, now Consulting in climate-friendly and energy efficient cooling sector.

«I learned how to work in a multicultural environment. Additionally, my career path was changed completely because of the masters». Mary Najjuma.

What is your career path?

My current career path is consulting in the cooling sector. This is to do climate-friendly and energy-efficient refrigeration and air conditioning.

Why did you decide to continue your education and how did you choose BBS?

Having worked for an oil company as a Business Analyst, I got the desire to pursue an MBA. I applied to several universities, and secured admission but without funding. My brother’s friend (BBS Alumnus) later introduced me to Bologna Business School and their Africa scholarship program. I liked the Green energy and sustainable businesses track and straight away applied for it.

What skills did the Master provide you with and how did you apply them in your work?

My eyes were opened to climate change and diversity. I learned how to work in a multicultural environment. Additionally, my career path was changed completely because of the master’s. Besides the class knowledge, I made long-life friends.

What are your next professional goals?

I intend to do a Ph.D. with a focus on cold chain development.

What is the added value of being part of the BBS Community?

The huge network was created from all over the globe.

What would you advise a BBS student to do?

While reading hard, build lasting relationships. Also, be open to change…your next opportunity may be in a field you have never thought about.
