Marianna Sessa: “In BBS I learned how to handle stress and build solid human relationships. “

11 December 2017

My name is Marianna and I am from Salerno, Southern Italy. I graduated in the Master in Human Resources & Organization at Bologna Business School and I am currently working at Trenitalia in the role of HR Specialist.

My passion for Labour Law, Industrial Relations and business led me to graduate in Law and to pass the Bar Examination. So, in order to match my legal and technical competencies with the managerial ones, I decided to apply for the Master in Human Resources and Organization at BBS.

The main reason why I chose Bologna Business School is for its challenging, educational and international programs and its excellent academic reputation.

Indeed, at BBS I had the opportunity to meet not only students coming from all over the world, with different academic and professional backgrounds, but also international professors and professionals who face and live HR and, in general, entrepreneurship matters in their daily working activities.

The added value of Bologna Business School is its openness to the world and to the innovation combined with the focus on both theoretical and practical topics: in all the educational activities theory links with real business cases.

In particular, as students of the international program in HR & Organization, my colleagues and I have been involved in a number of projects and workshops sponsored by AIDP: we had the opportunity to manage business cases with HR professionals and to cooperate with some others students from the University of Amsterdam through which we learnt how to manage team dynamics, to be flexible and to be open-minded.

Moreover, we had the opportunity to experience different business contexts through several company visits in Italy and abroad such as Vodafone UK and Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A., where I had also the chance to spend my internship period as HR Business Partner Support.

At the end of the classes I had the perception that BBS trained me for the following step: the labour market. I learnt how to manage stress and tight deadlines, to work in a multicultural environment and to build strong human relations.

Additionally, a very kind staff – always ready to support you – and the ancient and suggestive Villa Guastavillani with its breath-taking Bologna’s landscape view, comfortable classrooms, large green spaces, cafeteria and events have made my time in Bologna a truly authentic experience.

I would suggest it to everyone because BBS is the place where people share knowledge, ideas and passion; where entrepreneurship and commitment meet joyfulness and growth.
