Azzurra Meoli is a Senior Assistant Professor in the Department of Management at the University of Bologna, where she earned a Ph.D. in Management in March 2018. Her research interests fall primarily within the area of Management, with a focus on entrepreneurship and innovation. In particular, her studies focus on explaining how individuals decide to start an entrepreneurial career. She has been a visiting scholar at the Whitman School of Business, Syracuse University, and at Stanford in the Scandinavian Consortium for Organizational Research (SCANCOR). Her works are presented at the BCERC, AOM, and DRUID and published in relevant journals such as the Journal of Business Venturing and Research Policy. In addition to academic research and teaching, Azzurra is professionally involved in the academic spin-off VeNice.

COURSES

The transition from the planning stage to the implementation stage is characterized by a high level of criticality. Business coaching from scholars, entrepreneurs and managers are therefore essential, both in helping aspiring entrepreneurs to identify opportunities and threats and in implementing a successful strategy.

Great ideas become successful innovation combining several elements: new solutions, original knowledge, inspiration, complementary assets, sound management and a good dose of luck. The more complex the technological landscape becomes, the greater the need to engage multiple actors in this fascinating and complex process. In this course, we will explore why it is important to collaborate to innovate and what alternatives could be pursued. A set of managerial tools ranging from crowdsourcing to open innovation process will be presented and discussed in different industries and markets.

AI and Manufacturing

The course is focused on understanding of the opportunities arisen from digital transformation, in terms of innovative business models for companies and new value for users. Specifically, the course will deepen technology forecasting and technology roadmapping methodologies, applied to emerging digital trends, focusing on Fintech, IoT and Artificial Intelligence.
