Lucia Chierchia holds a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering at the Politecnico di Milano and an Executive Master in Technologies & Innovation Management at the Bologna Business School. She started her Professional experience in Aerospace and then moved to Home Appliances, in Whirpool Corporation and Electrolux Group. After managerial positions in Electrolux technology organisation, Lucia implemented Open Innovation strategy and then built Innovation Hub. She is now Managing Partner at GELLIFY, with a focus on Industry 4.0 and Open Innovation.

COURSES

The course tackles the strategic, organizational, and management aspects related to the development of innovation. There will be a particular focus on the organizational aspects of new product development, R&D, and management of new product development projects.

The activity is aimed at proposing innovative business processes focused on digital technologies and new business models.

The course provides the application of the skills students improved during the classes by developing a practical project based on a real company case.

Companies involvement will be one of the pillars of this course. Companies will assign the project guidelines to the students, building them around the class profile, and will supervise the development of their projects, giving help if needed.

Efficiency, flexibility and reliability of operational processes are the performance dimensions that we face everyday, both in industrial and services enterprises. A complete governance of the proper methodologies and tools and the understanding of advanced application experiences allow to reach operational excellence and increase competitive advantage. This course offers an introduction to operations management and strategy, clarifying some key themes and terminology, and exploring how operations managers can influence the short- and long-term success of their organisation.

COURSE – The course focuses on the process of value creation in the operative system, clarifying the definition of the structural characteristics: the expanded production system and fixing the boundaries of the company; vertical integration policy and production decentralization; managing the material flow, stocks and warehouses; process of planning production activities; procurement policies and management of the supply system. The course also encompasses current issues such as lean production, the use of RFID technologies and mass customization.
