Simone Ferriani is a Professor of Economics and Business Management at the Department of Business Science at the University of Bologna and Honorary Professor at Cass Business School (City University London). His interests in research include management, the importance of organisational performance and creativity.
INSPIRATIONAL AND MOTIVATIONAL SESSIONS - The strategic and operational elements that distinguish new enterprise creation: the articulation of the business concept, the business model, defining the organizational structure, research and the collection of financial resources, and the development of a business plan. The goal is to expose participants to an orientation to entrepreneurship, ways to develop personal skills and to provide them with the conceptual and practical steps to launch a start-up or create a business from within a corporate context, a spin-off/corporate venturing, through a combination of lectures, group work, sharing of practices, discussion of case studies and testimonials from successful entrepreneurs. The course is intended to support participants in the preparation of project work.
COURSE - The course will present the main tools used in business strategy and deals with the topic of entrepreneurship. Topics such as tools for strategic analysis, strategy and value creation, sector analysis and the competitive advantage, analysis of competitors and the enlarged competition model and the characteristics and choices of the entrepreneur will all be introduced. The goal of the course will be to make participants able to go from an idea to strategic planning with the final result being a full and packaged business plan.
