Throughout his professional career, he has gained Managerial experience in the automotive sector (FIAT, Yamaha, Ducati) where he developed and specialized, first as Quality Director and then as Purchasing and Supply Chain Director, an innovative approach and methodology of Lean Procurement & Supply Chain Management that is now adopted in many Italian companies. He has carried out numerous Change Management projects with a focus on Procurement and Supply Chain Management with the role of CEO and Senior Consultant in Ducati Consulting and later on in Contino & Partners as Founder. He publishes specialist articles in management journals and is a lecturer at some prestigious international business schools and conferences. Today he shares 30 years of direct experience as top manager and lead consultant in Business Development and Change Management projects with SMEs and multinational companies and with the academic world. He is Business Advisor to numerous SMEs and banking foundations, Professor of Procurement Management and Supply Chain Strategy at the Bologna Business School and of Operations Management at the MIEX Master of the University of Bologna; most recently Adjunct Professor in Operations at Shanghai University’s MBA Center.

After developing the decisions of competitive positioning of the company, the process of value creation for customer and the identification of critical success factors that shall orientate the supply chain and operations decisions will be analysed, highlighting the existing relationships between them and business strategic choices. When dealing with the topic of the “enlarged operating system”, both the impact of purchases on competitiveness and the policies that can be implemented for the creation and management of a supply chain consistent with the pursued strategy will be highlighted.
