Innovation Talks. Stefano Venier

Dec 11 2018 - 6.00 p.m. - Bologna Business School - Via degli Scalini 18 - Bologna

Stefano Venier, Chief Executive Officer of the Hera Group, will be a guest of the fourth Innovation Talk of the Fall Edition. Regeneration and Innovation for a new Shared Value is the title of the speech during which he will share with the BBS Community his vision on the role of innovation, digitalization and data analysis in the development of the circular economy, fundamental to promote a new model of growth for companies, cities and the territory. The event is organized in collaboration with Philip Morris Italia.

How to combine the economic growth with respect for environmental and social aspects? This is the question we have been hearing with increasing frequency in recent years, talking about sustainability and corporate social responsibility. Well, this question is wrong. The right questions to be asked are how can business become regenerative and resilient, producing more environmental and social value than it entails? And how to create economic value by responding to the needs of society and relevant eco-systems?

In this historical moment, the greatest market opportunities derive from the greatest challenges that humanity is facing, in particular inside the cities. For a utility this means a smart use of energy, through energy efficiency and renewable sources and an efficient use of resources, thanks to the circular economy of materials – no more waste – and water resources.

Innovation, digitalization and data analytics are the means to achieve these objectives, supporting the business development and the growth of territory and local communities, toward a model that is more regenerative, resilient and secure: the Circular Smart City. But there is a challenge within the challenge, the cultural and the competence change inside the business and the context.

The circular economy is one of the areas in which the Hera Group creates ‘shared value’, that is where value is generated for the organization, saving natural resources (and thus costs), providing solutions for the most urgent priorities and challenges for the sustainable development of the planet.

The event, dedicated to BBS Community, will be held in English and Italian with simultaneous translation.
