The fourth appointment with the spring edition of the Innovation Talks will host Candice Koo, Co-founder and Managing Director of CANCAN Global Payments and promotions. The event is organized in collaboration with Philip Morris Italia.
How China is leading fintech innovation in mobile payments is the title of the event dedicated to the Community of BBS, during which Candice Koo will present the technological innovation applied to the world of finance and electronic payments that have made China one of the leading countries of this sector. The theme will be discussed together with Emanuele Bajo, Associate Dean at BBS and Professor of Finance at the University of Bologna.
Candice Koo co-founded CANCAN with Jeffrey O'Rourke and is Managing Director of the company since July 2016. The mobile payment platform CANCAN is currently used by 1.4 billion people in 47 countries, among which are not only the domestic markets of China, Thailand and Hong Kong, but also 34 countries of the SEPA circuit, Australia, the United States and Canada.
As a veteran of the retail and fashion industry, during her last mandate before founding her own company, Candice Koo had the task of renovating and restructuring the merchandising and operational framework for the global retail operations of Hermès, where she was Group Merchandising and Retail Operations Director based in Paris. Prior to joining Hermès in 2005, she gained her experience at Li & Fung (Fung Group) in Asia and in Europe.
Candice is Non-Executive Director at Brunello Cucinelli since 2012, serving on its audit and remuneration committees. She has a master's degree in International Economic from Johns Hopkins University and a bachelor's degree in International Relations and Italian Studies from Brown University.
The event, dedicated to the BBS Community, will be held in English with simultaneous translation in Italian.
