Ivan Ureta (Bilbao, 1976) Holds a BA (Hons.) in Contemporary History, and a Master in History and Society, 2000 PhD. He was granted his PhD in Business History in 2003 at the University of Deusto (Bilbao) and completed a second PhD in 2014 on International Political Economy at King’s College London (UK). He obtained a certificate on Global Business at Harvard Business School.
Ureta currently works as a senior lecturer at the University of Applied Sciences of Southern Switzerland where he is also the Head of Executive Education. He also collaborates with Franklin University Switzerland and the Seoul Business School at the DBA program on “Responsible Management”; at the Lucerne Business School and at the EMBA program offered by Deusto Business School and collaborates with several Indian business schools. He is also the president of the Swiss Business Ethics Network and coordinates the Swiss chapter of the Global Business Ethics Survey. He is also the contact person for PRME at SUPSI. His areas of research, teaching and executive training are the following: international political economy, business ethics, responsible management and leadership.In the past Ureta has gained experience as associate professor at IE Business School, King’s College London, Sultan Qaboos University in Oman, Geneva School of Diplomacy (academic director) and the Peruvian universities of San Marcos and Piura. As a senior researcher he worked at the University of Cambridge (Judge Business School and Center of Latin American Studies), University of Oxford, University of Leeds, University of Exeter and at the Diplomatic Academy of Malta.
As a practitioner he has participated in several international projects run by the International Organization for Migration (IOM), Norwegian Institute of Foreign Affairs, Spanish and Peruvian Agency for Cooperation Development Cooperation Agency, NATO Parliamentary Assembly and the US Government (Department of Foreign Affairs)
