Mauro Piermaria, since November 2022, is Director for Programs and Strategies at the Office for Space and Aerospace Policies at the Presidency of the Council of Ministers. The office supports the President of the Council or the Delegated Authority, for its duty in the field of space of guidelines definition, general political responsibility, and coordination of the policies of the Ministries in the sector. Before this, he served at the Italian Space Agency, in several roles, lately as Head of Innovation and New Space Economy, managing commercialization, start-ups, equities investments and technology transfer.  From 2014 to 2020 he was Head of Equities & Governance Affairs at Italian Space Agency and Secretary of the ASI Board of Directors. In the same period, member of the Board of Directors of ALTEC Spa, E. Amaldi Foundation and ELV Spa. He’s author of several Space Economy initiatives such as the M&A operation of ELV Spa with AVIO Spa, the Primo Space Venture Capital Fund initiative, the creation of the E. Amaldi Foundation. Mauro Piermaria holds a master’s degree in aerospace engineering from University Sapienza in Rome and received his Master of Business Administration from MIB School of Management in Trieste.
