She is an Associate Professor of Corporate Finance at the University of Bologna. She is the Program Director of the Second Cycle Degree in Management for Social Economy. From 2002 to 2003, she was a visiting scholar at the Accounting and Finance Department at Strathclyde University, Glasgow, Scotland. In 2005, she got her Ph.D. in Corporate Finance from the University of Trieste. Barbara teaches classes in corporate finance and sustainable finance at the undergraduate, MBA, and Ph.D. levels. Her research focuses on corporate governance, corporate social responsibility, sustainable finance, and market efficiency. She has published many articles in some important journals, such as “Corporate Governance: An International Review”, “International Review of Economics & Finance”, “Journal of Business Ethics”, and “Review of Quantitative Finance and Accounting”. Her paper “Corporate social responsibility and cost of financing—The importance of the international corporate governance system” is the Runner-up of the Corporate Governance: an International Review (CGIR) Best Paper Award 2020. Barbara has played tennis for thirteen years and is now involved in volunteer activities in favor of kids and families.

COURSES

The goal of this course is to analyze the tools available on the market to support the adoption by companies of sustainability-oriented strategies in order to help identify possible financial solutions but above all to decline business projects, areas of development, structural investments to be financed by sustainable investors. In particular, two different perspectives related to finance will be developed within the course:

  • Institutional political process: how regulations and control bodies change
  • Operational tools: Green and Social Bond, Impact Bond, Green Loan, etc.
