Luciano  Fratocchi
Full Professor of Management Engineering University of L'Aquila Core Faculty

Luciano Fratocchi is a Full Professor of Business Engineering at the University of L’Aquila, where he teaches Business Management and Management Control Systems. As part of the educational offerings at Bologna Business School, he is a lecturer for the Supply Chain Management course within the Master’s program in Business Management.

He graduated with honors in Economics and Commerce from LUISS Guido Carli and earned a Ph.D. in Business Management from Alma Mater Studiorum University of Bologna. Fratocchi was a visiting Ph.D. student at the Department of Management at the University of Bath (UK) and the Department of Business Studies at Uppsala University (Sweden), where he also served as a visiting professor.

His research focuses on topics related to internationalization processes, with a particular emphasis on the phenomenon of reshoring, which involves the relocation of manufacturing or supply activities back to the home country or neighboring countries. On these subjects, he has published contributions in international journals such as the Journal of World Business, International Business Review, International Journal of Production Economics, Production Planning & Control, Industrial Marketing Management, Journal of Purchasing and Supply, Operations Management Research, European Business Review, Journal of Global Operations and Strategic Sourcing, and International Journal of Physical Distribution & Logistics Management.

COURSES

The course focuses on issues related to the management of materials along the supply chain, from suppliers to distribution channels. In this regard, they have a vital role. Managerial and organizational decisions made about the relationships with external companies with which we relate to, are the focal point of the course. In analyzing the vertical relationships between firms, the course seeks to develop: sensitivity to the Strategic Importance of the reports, the technical and managerial knowledge needed to deal with the decisions in the matter and organizational skills needed to manage them.
