Kostas Langas studied Physics at the University of London. After his studies and Specialisation research, for many years he studied and analysed high-power Laser and Robot-Laser beams in industrial processes. Later, he began to work as a consultant in many multinational companies. He specialised in the design and organisation of production plants, R&D and product/process development processes and systems. After the second Specialisation, he began to study and analyse organisational design, processes and methodologies related to the management and development of Human Resources in correlation with business process systems. He carried out strategic consulting services for large multinational companies in many countries (Italy, USA, UK, France, Germany, China, India, Vietnam and others) dealing with processes and methods of Research and Organisational Design and Human Resources Management Systems. He was CEO from 1993 to 1995 of the Xynis Group in Greece, the largest national private company in the field of education and training services at all EQF levels. As part of this role, he was Dean Director and Professor of the Athens branches of the Universities of Coventry, Derby and Northumbria upon Newcastle.
Since 1993 he has been teaching at several Italian and foreign (UK and USA) universities. He taught for many years at the University of Turin and still teaches at the GSOM of the Polytechnic University of Milan as an Adjunct Professor and as a Visiting Professor at the University of Ferrara and at the BBS of the University of Bologna.
He was Consultant at the Greek Ministry of Labour and Welfare from 1993 to 1997 with the delegation of reorganisation of all national professional training and Consultant at the Italian Ministry of Public Administration from 2014 to 2018 with the responsibility of developing the methodological framework for the creation of a national system for the evaluation of the performances of PA employees at all organisational levels.
From 1993 to 1996 he was the Leader Coordinator and Vice-President of Euroqualification, the most important European initiative for the development of a unified and pan-European system concerning vocational training and related professional qualifications.
He is the author of several articles and publications. In 2014 he published the book “Contro la Leadership” for the GEDI Group and in 2022 the monography “Organizational Structuralism” for Palgrave Macmillan (Springer Nature Group). The monography was awarded the “Best New Structuralism Book in 2023” from Book Authority at an international level. Two new monographies entitled “Against Leadership” and “The Leadership Models Controversy” respectively are under publication.
