Nicola Giorgi is Professor of Brand Management at the University of Bologna where he teaches third-year students in the Bachelor of Economics and Business degree and first-year students in the Master of Economics and Management degree. He is a consultant for PricewaterhouseCoopers where he serves as Senior Advisor – Consumer Goods. A lecturer at BBS since 2011, he currently teaches “Management of Made in Italy” at the Full Time Master in Business Management and “Business Model in the Fashion Industry” at the Global MBA – Design, Fashion and Luxury. He also leads project groups for BBS in Fashion & Luxury. His activities and interests are developed on Brand Strategy, Brand Management, Communication, Digital Transformation, Omnichannel, E-commerce prevaleNTEMENTE in Fashion & Luxury and Made in Italy. After a long experience in Automotive (Volvo, Saab, BMW/Mini), in 2008 he was appointed General Manager of Hogan (Tod’s Group). From 2011 to 2013 he was Managing Director of Safilo’s Own Brands Division. From 2013 to 2016 he served as Chief Marketing Officer for the Diesel Group. Since 2016 he has been a consultant for leading international fashion and luxury companies on issues of brand strategy, busisness management and digital transformation. Nicola Giorgi graduated with a degree in Political Science (cum laude) from the University of Bologna in 1989. From 1986 to 1995 he was a national basketball referee.

 

COURSES

The course describes the leading Business Models in the Fashion Industry as well as the ongoing transformations happening in the Fashion Industry. One of the objectives is to analyze how major brands do develop and implement strategies to approach the changing scenarios. The course will propose a taxonomy of the Fashion Industry and students will additionally analyze the drivers of growth.
