Nicola Giorgi is a Professor of Brand Management at University of Bologna where he currently teaches to third year students of the 1st cycle degree programme in Economics and to first year students of the 2nd cycle degree programme in Economics and Management. He is also consulting with major Fashion and Luxury brands being Senior Advisor – Consumer Goods at PricewaterouseCoopers. At BBS since 2011, he is currently teaching “Management of Made in Italy” at Master Full Time – Business Management and “Business Models in the Fashion Industry” at Global MBA – Design, Fashion and Luxury. He also runs selective project works in the field of Fashion&Luxury for BBS. His areas of interest span from Business Strategy to Brand Management and Communication, Digital Transformation, Omnichannel, E-commerce, Customer Behaviour, with a special focus on Fashion&Luxury and Made in Italy. After a long experience in the Automotive Industry (Volvo, Saab, BMW/Mini), in 2008 he became General Manager for Hogan (Tod’s Group). From 2011 to 2013 he served as Managing Director for Safilo. From 2013 and 2016 he served as Chief Marketing Officer of the Diesel Group. From 2016 he is an active consultant to leading international corporations on brand strategy, business management and digital transformation. Nicola Giorgi earned his B.A. Political Sciences (cum laude) from University of Bologna as a Marketing major. Between 1986 and 1995 he enjoyed being a Basketball Referee in the National Division.
The course describes the leading Business Models in the Fashion Industry as well as the ongoing transformations happening in the Fashion Industry. One of the objectives is to analyze how major brands do develop and implement strategies to approach the changing scenarios.
