Leonardo Felician is a graduate in Physics from the Scuola Normale Superiore di Pisa and an Alfiere del Lavoro. He is the founder of direct Life and Non-Life insurance in Italy, a serial innovator and one of Europe’s leading experts in motor insurance and the application of Big Data to insurance technology.

After gaining experience at IBM Italy and Assicurazioni Generali, in 1994 he founded and directed Genertel. He also served as CEO of Antonveneta Assicurazioni, LA Vita, and Genialloyd. Additionally, he was the Innovation Manager and Head of all P&C products at Allianz SpA and also served as President of the Permanent P&C Commission of ANIA. He is now President of Linear Assicurazioni and the founder and CEO of BeRebel, an innovative monthly pay-per-use car insurance company in Italy.

For over 40 years, he has taught at Italian universities: Information Organisation Techniques at the University of Udine, Software Design and Information Systems at the University of Trieste, Insurance Business Economics at the University of Pisa and Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan. Currently, he is a core faculty member at the MIB-School of Management in Trieste, where he is teaching Big Data Management and professor of Big Data Science for Insurance at University of Trieste.

He is the author of four textbooks, over a hundred scientific publications and a freelance journalist with thousands of articles published.

COURSES

The course will provide an introduction to insurance products and insurance business. The aim of the course is to provide students the knowledge of insurance business that is required to apply technology and digital innnovation to this specific sector
