Marco Bussi is Business Development Executive at Viavi Solutions (NASDAQ: VIAV). The multinational, U.S.-based company is present in numerous markets, from telecommunications to semiconductors, from space to defense.

Marco has 30 years of experience in the ICT industry. Specifically, he has been involved in conceiving, developing test and monitoring solutions for mobile networks and critical infrastructures, and then extending these platforms in the area of Cyber-Security. During this path he has supported and contributed in the definition of standards and best practices at institutional bodies such as the European Railway Agency and the UIC (Union Internationale des Chemins de fer), occasionally participating in multilateral projects in cooperation with several universities (among them we mention the Polytechnic of Turin and the University of Birmingham) To date, these systems, are used at 95% of railway operators in Europe, the Middle East, the Gulf area and APAC. Lately, he has then returned to telecommunications-related projects in the Defense field.

Marco holds a bachelor’s degree in electronic engineering from the Polytechnic University of Turin. He later co-founded and was board-member in several entrepreneurial ventures in Information Technology, Industrial Automation and Telecommunications before joining Comtest Wireless Ltd, which merged last year into Viavi Solutions.

COURSES

The main focus of the course is on complex supply chains with an overview of examples on the case of semiconductors, rare earths, and their increasing impact in legacy industries such as automotive. The course, addresses how new technologies impact traditional manufacturing chains. Case studies and real-world examples are provided to understand production complexities, unexpected lead times, market-imposed range changes, and risk mitigation strategies, helping to form a picture of the challenges that traditional industries will be expected to face as technology advances.
