Lorenzo Bizzi, PhD, is Associate Professor of Management at California State University, Fullerton, and director of the Business Honors program. He teaches strategy and consulting at the undergraduate, graduate and executive level. He has been involved in business consulting for 15 years. His master students won twice the Small Business Institute award for best consulting project of the nation. He won the executive council award for best professor of the college of business and economics and was voted four times in a row the all-time best professor of the business honors program. He taught international business at McGill University, in Canada, and worked at Bocconi University in Milan. He published in major academic journals, such as, among others, Strategic Management Journal, Journal of Management, Human Resource Management, Harvard Business Review and Human Relations. He studies social networks in organizations, social media policies, HR performance appraisal, strategic alliances and strategic selling. His research has been featured in major financial outlets, such as the Financial Times, Smart Company, Inc. Magazine, CEO Magazine, and Yahoo Finance. He graduated from Bocconi University and earned his PhD from HEC Montreal.

COURSES

This course is aimed at introducing students to the practice of business consulting to make them learn how they can formulate precise recommendations for action, grounded in solid logical arguments, supported by reliable evidence, reinforced by indications for practical implementation, and justified by clear implications for company profitability and financials. The sessions will make students acquire core concepts associated with problem-solving, problem analysis, recommendation formulation, study design and analysis, presentation delivery, and client relationship management. The sessions will engage students with a set of exercises to practice and reflect on the acquired business consulting skills.
