Aldo Gardini is a Fixed-Term Researcher in Statistics at the Department of Statistical Sciences at the University of Bologna, where he obtained his PhD in Statistical Sciences in 2020. His research interests primarily focus on methodological statistics, with particular emphasis on Bayesian approaches and statistical applications in various fields. Specifically, he has worked on the specification of prior distributions in latent Gaussian models, small area estimation models aimed at estimating poverty and inequality measures in developing countries, and extreme value models. During his research, he has developed numerous R packages and new computational statistical algorithms. The results of his research have been published in international scientific journals and presented at various conferences. In recent years, he has taught courses in Statistical Inference and Business Analytics for Finance and Insurance in the Bachelor’s Degree Program in Statistics, Finance, and Insurance.
