Amanda Ahl is an Analyst on the Grids & Utilities team at BloombergNEF, leading the team’s global coverage of power utility digitalization and innovation strategies. At the Bologna Business School, she is a Visiting Professor, teaching the MBA course Green Strategy and Sustainable Development. Amanda has international experience in energy research and business, such as at the Oak Ridge National Lab in the U.S. and Shizen Energy in Japan.

Amanda also runs a global energy community called Energy Tech Meetup, which gathers stakeholders from industry, startups and research to discuss pressing energy innovation issues. She has a PhD in Technology Management from the Tokyo Institute of Technology, and a masters in Industrial Engineering from the Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden. Her dissertation topic was on strategies for digital innovation in the power value chain, such as smart grid and blockchain.
