Executive MBA – Interview with Marina Balestrazzi
30 October 2024How was your experience in the Executive MBA? What motivated you to take on such a challenging path?
Attending an Executive MBA is certainly a challenge, considering that you have to balance work, study, and personal life. The strongest motivation that moved me was the prospect of improving my professional skills and the possibility to make a more significant contribution to my company.
I chose to embark on this challenging path, and I chose to do it in Bologna Business School because, in addition to the pure educational aspect, the School takes great care of the relational aspect: the bonds that are established between classmates and professors are strong relationships that last over time, even after the end of the Master.
What was the most formative experience for you during this course of study?
Two key aspects:
Learning by doing: the opportunity to immediately apply what you learn, for example, in relation to Leadership, Strategy, and Finance in your daily work context.
Peer-to-peer learning: the opportunity to learn from highly qualified colleagues with different experiences. Exchanges with classmates, who often come from very different sectors and backgrounds, bring new perspectives and ideas. The interaction with this diverse network allows you to acquire skills that go beyond what is taught in the core courses.
How has participating in the Executive MBA influenced your career? What competitive advantages do you think the EMBA can provide to its participants?
An Executive MBA in BBS is not only an educational opportunity but also a career accelerator that offers concrete competitive advantages, such as acquiring high-level managerial skills that allow you to tackle business challenges from multiple perspectives, especially in an increasingly complex and interconnected landscape.
Participating in the EMBA has contributed to my growth within the company by expanding my area of responsibility.
What advice would you give to someone who is considering starting an Executive MBA?
No other advice than a strong: Do It, and Do It in BBS. It will be one of the most enriching professional and personal experiences you can give yourself!
