On Thursday, May 27th, at 6 pm (CET), there will be the virtual event When Reality Strikes: a New Challenge for Tech Firms with Grace Y. Shin, Lead Political and Regulatory Risk Analysis for the Americas team at TikTok.

In an increasingly connected global environment, events, movements, and politics no longer happen in a silo. Social media has proven it holds a central role in the organization of protests, campaigning for elections, and even a host of illegal activities, ranging from narcotics and human trafficking, illicit financing, and incitement to violence. How do technology companies adapt to these new and heightened risks? How does the regulatory environment stand to adapt to these risks?

We will discuss these issues with Grace Y. Shin, Lead Political and Regulatory Risk Analysis for the Americas team at TikTok.
Grace holds a Masters in International Relations and International Political Economy and speaks five languages. She has previously worked as a consultant for the Gobierno de Puebla in Mexico, the US Trade Representative’s office, as well as at UniPolSai in Bologna.
