On Wednesday, March 5, at 6:00 PM, at Villa Guastavillani, the event “March 8 Is Not a Women’s Issue” will take place.
As we approach March 8, International Women’s Day, we want to pause and reflect on what it means to be a woman from multiple perspectives of experience and identity. We invite both women and men to take part in this dialogue, recognizing ourselves, together, as individuals and professionals capable of taking action and driving change.
In the interdisciplinary spirit of BBS, we will begin our discussion with a children’s literature author, reflecting on the importance of our roots and those of future generations. We will then turn our focus to our workplaces and organizations, exploring their connections with the social and cultural environment. Together, we will ask whether we can reimagine ourselves as professionals—embracing rebellion, innovation, voice, change, and participation.
March 8 is not just about women—it concerns everyone. It is an opportunity to expand possibilities by addressing and acknowledging the barriers and stereotypes that stand in the way of equal rights, as well as the power and privilege each of us holds in representing ourselves and others, both in the workplace and within our families. It is also a time to explore possible paths forward, both personally and organizationally.
