Innovation Talk: Marco Alberti

On MondayJanuary 24th, at 6 pm CEST, there will be the second Innovation Talk of the Winter Edition 2022: “Why Kazakhstan matters” with Marco Alberti, Ambassador of Italy to Kazakhstan and Alec Ross, Distinguished Adjunct Professor at BBS and Former Senior Advisor for Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama.

The role of Kazakhstan is crucial within the Central Asian Region, which has become geo-politically and geo-economically more and more relevant. Marco Alberti will discuss the nature of bilateral relations between Kazakhstan and Italy, deepening the role of the Italian economic system in central Asia.

Marco Alberti, Diplomat, started his career in 2000 and worked at the Italian Embassy in Buenos Aires and at the Consulate General in New York, especially focusing on economic diplomacy and innovation-driven diplomacy.

He worked in Enel, with positions of increasing responsibility until 2021, when he was designated Italian Ambassador to Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. Already adjunct professor at several universities, in 2021 he published with Rubettino “Open Diplomacy – Increased economic diplomacy at the time of COVID-19”.
