On October 31, 2024, the first edition of the Emilia Sostenibile Award will take place, an initiative designed to promote and recognize the best sustainability practices among businesses in Emilia-Romagna. The award is organized by UCID Bologna in collaboration with Confcooperative Terre d’Emilia, Confindustria Emilia Area Centro, and Bologna Business School, with support from Emil Banca and Coprob Italia Zuccheri.
The initiative has attracted 55 sustainable projects from the provinces of Bologna (25), Modena (20), Ferrara, and Reggio Emilia. The competing projects have been selected for their commitment to three main areas: environmental sustainability (28 projects), social sustainability (12 projects), and governance (4 projects). Six projects encompass all three dimensions of sustainability, demonstrating a comprehensive approach to future challenges.
The Emilia Sostenibile Award is distinguished by its ability to unite diverse entities, from cooperatives to private companies, fostering collaboration to promote sustainable practices. The event offers a platform for businesses and organizations to connect, all sharing the goal of making the region greener and more responsible. Among the participating companies, about half of the projects are in advanced stages, while the remainder are still in development.
The event will culminate in awarding two winning companies, who will receive a special recognition designed by Donatella SchilirĂ², symbolizing their commitment to sustainability. This inaugural edition of the award marks an important milestone for Emilia-Romagna, a region that stands out for adopting innovative, forward-thinking business models focused on the planet’s future.
