Company presentation: Lavazza

20 June 2024

BBS Professional Masters are characterized by a pragmatic approach that aims to provide answers to market demands.

With this in mind, several initiatives parallel to the classroom lectures are provided to those who participate in these study paths at Bologna Business School: Managerial & Company Workshops, Team Project Work, and Career Development programs flank the lectures of the international and top-level Faculty.

At the end of the study path, an internship in a company that operates on a global market scale is the perfect key to quickly entering the business world.

An education that involves placement in the business world is a priority, especially in today’s challenging and ever-changing international scenario.

With this in mind, Bologna Business School organizes on-campus and online meetings with executives and HR from local and international companies, thus providing students with privileged access to the positions to which they aspire.

On June 10, online, a meeting was held between students from some of the English-language BBS Master and Rose Emily Hungate, International Recruiter at Lavazza Group, supported by Christian Pueri, Talent Acquisition & Employer Branding Specialist at Lavazza Group.

Rose Hungate told students about the history of the Lavazza Group, focusing on the company’s internationalization journey and the global strategies Lavazza has implemented to improve every field in which it operates.

Lavazza, a family-owned company for more than 125 years, whose mission is to provide the best coffee experience to everyone in every form every day, is now a group that operates in 140 countries, with a 2023 turnover of 1.3 billion euros and a 13% increase over the last year.

Its strategy is to build a better world, one coffee at a time, with an approach based on passion, integrity, and experience.

After an overview through the company’s entire history, from its founding to the acquisition of other brands and the brilliant development of the group, Rose Hungate moved on to give the students a precise overview of Lavazza’s outlook on sustainability goals, based on the already achieved emission offsetting, the achievement of using fully sustainable packaging in 2025, and with a prospect in the next decade of achieving full carbon neutrality.

Alongside the journey toward corporate sustainability, Lavazza is beginning an important path in the direction of cultural change toward inclusivity through various international projects that aim to eliminate gender gaps, all forms of inequality, and with the ambition to reach the point where every company employee worldwide is free to express themselves without discrimination.

From the innovative center in Turin, the Nuvola, Lavazza’s headquarters, museum, archaeological site, restaurant and bistro, as well as one of the greenest buildings in the world, Group HR invited interested students to contact Lavazza, explaining how to apply from the website and what the most relevant characteristics are to be eligible for the six-month internship at the company: the ideal candidate is fluent in Italian and English, a third language is considered a plus, but above all is curious and eager to learn.
After application and CV evaluation, two to three interviews are scheduled, depending on the role involved.

A unique opportunity for BBS Master participants to come into direct contact with those who can open the doors to the business world, to make the best start to an important career.
