BBS Alumni Association meets ESSEC Alumni
In the name of internationalisation

26 May 2022

On Saturday, May 14, the first international meeting of the BBS Alumni Association was held in collaboration with ESSEC Alumni, the corresponding Alumni Association of the ESSEC Business School in Paris. It was a meeting under the banner of sharing and exchanging ideas that offered new insights to our alumni for future projects.

How important is the Alumni world for the development of international business schools?

Around this question developed the meeting between the two associations, which probed the mechanisms and opportunities for growth related to the relationships gained during their educational experience. The Alumni world is made up of professionals who, once they have completed their training pre-course, want to keep alive the connection with their home business school through networking events, career orientation, mentoring, follow-ups regarding their field of expertise and the conception of projects involving their community.

For these reasons, alumni associations are of great value to business schools, consistently contributing to the growth and maintenance of student and participant communities. A proactive way of acting that is attentive to the initiatives coming from all the alumni involved. This is done through a voluntary activity that signals a strong attachment to one’s school and the intention to contribute to the broadening of its horizons beyond the single aspect of education.

The discussion between BBS and ESSEC alumni was thus enlightening in this regard. ESSEC Alumni boasts a 100-year history and the guests offered the young BBS Alumni Association renewed stimuli for the future, both at the organisational level and practical level. Exchanges of ideas, projects and questions made the meeting particularly interactive.

Elisabetta Veggetti, Group Purchasing Director, Coesia and Alumna BBS, and Anne- Sophie Chouillou, Fund Manager and Partner, Anthilia Capital Partners Sgr and ESSEC Alumna were the two special guests who contributed to the success of the event by recounting their experiences in industry and the investment sector. High-profile personalities who compared their paths full of passion and with an eye always on innovation and the future.

I am very happy and satisfied with this first joint event together with ESSEC, a prestigious business school with an alumni association of over 100 year” says Samantha Morrison, Preident on Duty of the BBS Alumni Association. “It was a celebration of learning, networking and also the pleasure of being physically together in the amazing setting of Villa Guastavillani. A big thank you to all the participants, to Anne-Sophie and Elisabetta for being such great and interesting speakers and to the BBS and ESSEC teams for all their help in organizing. I am sure this was just the first of many great events to come
