MBA Hybrid Online – Interview with Marcello Ferrari

11 November 2024

How was your experience at Bologna Business School? Why did you choose to attend the Hybrid MBA?

Completing my education with an MBA was a recurring desire, but it was only when I discovered Bologna Business School’s Hybrid MBA that I found the right formula to embark on this journey.
The flexibility of the program allowed me to balance my studies with my work responsibilities, frequent business trips, and family care.
During the course, I met amazing companions who I trust will continue to accompany me in my professional journey.

What skills have you developed thanks to this MBA?

Certainly, I gained foundational knowledge in areas like Administration and Finance, Marketing, Operations, and Supply Chain. However, the most valuable skills I apply daily in my company are the soft skills: leadership to motivate teams, conflict management, effective communication in negotiation, presentations, and interpersonal relationships.
Last but not least, networking, with a focus on building professional relationships and expanding my network of contacts.
The MBA has provided me with a high-level, 360-degree vision of the company, enabling me to understand the interconnections between different functions and business areas. This has helped me develop an “entrepreneurial mindset” that encourages innovative thinking and the quick identification of opportunities.

What do you think are the competitive advantages that an MBA in Bologna Business School can provide to its participants?

The first competitive advantage is You.
The quality of the teaching and the excellent organization at BBS allowed me to accelerate my professional growth, discover new interests, and achieve a concrete return right from the start.
The right mix of hard skills acquired and soft skills developed in my “toolbox” has enabled me to analyze my work environment from a new perspective, with a new maturity of thought, with the confidence, and increased trust in my ability to make decisions and face complex challenges.

What advice would you give to those considering an MBA?

An MBA provides you with a complete set of skills that, with commitment and determination, will make you a more versatile professional, better prepared to face the challenges of today’s job market.
Don’t underestimate the time; it’s important to choose the right program.
Analyze your present and build an idea of your future project: the Master will certainly provide you with the skills, but you must identify your own goals.
The class, the fellow participants, are an integral and fundamental part of the journey. Personally, I was worried that the Hybrid format wouldn’t allow us to create deep bonds, but fortunately, the 14 months together, both virtual and in person, created a strong sense of “us,” a great feeling of belonging to the team, where everyone learned and grew through shared experiences.
