24 June 2025

The second residential session of the Executive Master in Data Science & Digital Innovation has concluded, marking a significant milestone in the participants’ learning journey.

The three-day agenda offered an intensive and diverse experience designed to develop the technical, analytical and strategic skills essential for operating in today’s data-driven business environments.

The first day opened in the classroom with welcome remarks from Gabriele Tazzari, Executive Director of the master, and Elisa Montaguti, Scientific Director. This was followed by a company visit to Prometeia, where participants had the opportunity to engage with a leading Italian firm in the field of consultancy and advanced analytics. Valerio Consorti, Associate Partner and Lead Data Scientist, together with Martina Occhipinti, Head of Talent Acquisition, led the session, highlighting the role of predictive analytics and AI in decision-making processes.

The second day featured a tour through some of the most relevant technology and industrial organizations in the Bologna area. The morning began at Leitha, a company specializing in advanced software solutions, and continued with a networking lunch at Dispensa Emilia, a benchmark in the agri-food sector.

The core of the day was the visit to Cineca Tecnopolo, one of the most important supercomputing and scientific research centers in Europe. Here, students had the chance to see Leonardo, one of the world’s most powerful supercomputers, and explore how data analysis and artificial intelligence technologies are applied in contexts ranging from scientific research to complex simulations and industrial innovation. The experience provided a tangible perspective on how business analytics integrates with cutting-edge technologies to generate meaningful impact on a global scale.

The day concluded with a visit to CRIF, a global leader in business information, credit management and analytics solutions, where the focus shifted to the role of data in the financial and credit sectors.

The third and final day was dedicated to project work and business games—hands-on learning sessions where participants applied the skills they had acquired, working on real cases and business simulations under the guidance of instructors and professionals such as Riccardo Tesselli, Project Work Coordinator, and Gabriele Tazzari.

This second residential session represents a vital component for professionals pursuing a multidisciplinary growth path aligned with the challenges of today’s data-driven business landscape. The Executive Master in Data Science & Digital Innovation at Bologna Business School stands out for its integrated approach, combining data analysis, digital technologies and strategic vision.
