Luxury, authenticity and growth: the company visit to Golden Goose

Getting to know an Industry Champion in the Italian fashion scene and experiencing firsthand a business reality capable of blending heritage and innovation, craftsmanship and strategic vision. This is what participants of the Master in Business Management experienced during their company visit to Golden Goose, one of the most iconic contemporary brands of the Made in Italy.

Welcoming them was a team of professionals who succeeded in conveying the essence of a company that built its success on uniqueness, customer experience, and an approach that embraces imperfection as a defining element of luxury.

“What struck me the most was the authentic and engaging atmosphere created by the professionals who welcomed us,” says Daniele Leo Carbotti, student of the Made in Italy track. “Their openness turned the visit into a real constructive dialogue, revealing a company culture strongly oriented towards listening and sharing.”

For Daniele, the experience represented a bridge between theory and practice: “Being physically inside such a highly regarded Italian company was truly enlightening. I had the opportunity to closely observe its organizational dynamics and see first-hand how key principles like brand consistency, quality focus, and ongoing innovation are applied.”

A sentiment shared by Tyler Johnson, student of the Italian Premium Brands track: “The atmosphere at Golden Goose was truly inspiring. There was a tangible sense of positivity, inclusivity, and a strong cross-functional collaboration culture. The attention to employee well-being is evident and is considered a strategic lever for fostering creativity and success.”

Both students were particularly impressed by the company’s innovative business model. “Golden Goose has built its identity around customer centrality,” says Daniele. “The team dedicated to customer experience goes beyond data analysis to create memorable experiences. In their stores, customers become active participants, in a space that transcends the traditional retail concept.”

Tyler highlights another distinctive element: “Golden Goose’s philosophy is rooted in the embrace of imperfection, a revolutionary approach in the luxury world that celebrates individuality and personal expression, while remaining firmly anchored to its Italian roots. In my view, this vision represents a new benchmark for the future of Made in Italy.”

Meeting with professionals from the company provided valuable insights for the students’ career paths. “I had the chance to talk with some young professionals, including Claudia,” recalls Daniele. “I was struck by their sense of belonging and the passion with which they shared their work experience. It made me realize how important it is to choose environments that value people to build a career path aligned with one’s personal values.”

Tyler was also inspired by her conversations with team members: “Chiara and Raffaella spoke to us about the importance of staying true to ourselves and maintaining curiosity and proactiveness at all times. They emphasized how essential it is to stay informed and seize every opportunity to build a meaningful path in the luxury industry.”

Experiences like this one are a hallmark of the Bologna Business School educational model, which prioritizes experiential learning and direct engagement with some of the most innovative companies in the Italian and global business landscape. “It was a valuable moment not only for networking, but also for personal reflection on my aspirations,” concludes Daniele. “An experience that perfectly aligns with the interdisciplinary and immersive approach of BBS.”

For Tyler, the visit naturally complements her academic journey: “We’re at the beginning of our specialized track, and this experience was crucial in connecting theory to practice, gaining direct exposure to the industry’s real-world dynamics, and deepening my motivation to grow in this direction.”
