Angelini Industries chooses Bologna Business School for the case study on its Corporate Academy

29 May 2025

Angelini Industries, a leading group in the pharmaceutical and healthcare sector, selected Bologna Business School to develop the case study on the Angelini Academy, which supports the Group’s human capital ecosystem by strengthening leadership and managerial skills.

The case study, developed by Gabriele Morandin and Marcello Russo, traces the evolution of the Angelini Academy and examines how it has become a cornerstone of organizational change and a catalyst for cultural transformation within the Group. Based on public sources and interviews with members of Angelini Industries and Angelini Academy, the project is the result of a structured collaboration across several phases of preparation, revision and educational validation.

Bologna Business School hosted the first presentation of the case during a special session of the Master in HR & Organization. Students took part in an open dialogue with representatives of Angelini Pharma, offering reflections and insights that helped consolidate the case as an effective teaching tool.

The session served as a live test of the case study, designed to explore key topics such as people development, cultural transformation, and the challenges of managerial education in complex environments. The exchange between students and professionals confirmed the generative value of learning experiences built in close connection with the business world.

The event also featured Tiziana Carnicelli, Group Education & HR Communication Head at Angelini Industries, who, together with the Angelini Academy team, supported the development of the case study.

The presentation is part of a university roadshow promoted by Angelini Academy, which will bring the project to leading Italian and European universities, with the goal of fostering dialogue between academia and business, and highlighting Corporate Academies as drivers of growth and innovation.

“Working on this teaching case has been extremely interesting, as it confirmed—if ever there was any doubt—that HR policies, and in particular the training provided by Angelini’s Corporate Academy, truly act as a driver to ignite organizational change within companies,” said Marcello Russo.

“The approach of Angelini Industries’ Academy—providing people with the right skills and resources to enhance their professionalism—is certainly one of the most effective strategies to overcome individual resistance and empower employees to become agents of change. I am very proud to represent Bologna Business School in this roadshow.”
