Global MBA Company Visit

31 May 2022

BBS combines its Global MBA courses with additional educational experiences: from Leadership Talks to Company Visits, course programs are integrated with ‘hands-on training’ events throughout the study year.

One of the reasons why an MBA is among the most prestigious and sought-after degrees in the world is the strength with which business and management concepts are applied to real-world situations.

BBS has developed this concept according to the glocal and business-oriented approach of its Global MBA: based on the different directions of the five tracks, it has planned a series of visits to leading companies in the target sector, integrating lectures and direct contact with the business world. The first-hand experiences and meetings with leading executives become an opportunity for BBS Global MBA students to enhance their cultural background and network.

BBS has built an important network of companies that collaborate directly with the Global MBA Program, always updated and tailored to the real needs of the business world. This collaboration is developed throughout the study year up to the final internship. With the Company Visits, BBS students can discover the environments, the equipment, and the management and managerial approaches of the leading companies directly from the professionals. It means discovering industry best practices and having unique networking opportunities, which can lead to future job collaborations.

For the track Design, Fashion and Luxury Goods, BBS has planned last year a visit to Giuseppe Zanotti S.p.A., a leading shoe manufacturer, and a meeting with the designer of luxury footwear Giuseppe Zanotti. A visit to Colombini S.p.A., manufacturer and owner of luxury furniture brands for over fifty years, is planned for 2022.

For the Food and Wine track, visits to Gruppo Montenegro, Italian leader since 1885 in the production of spirits and owner of labels such as Vecchia Romagna and Olio Cuore have been organized, and also to Vigneto San Vito, one of the most renowned wine-growing areas in Italy. This year, the agenda includes visits to companies such as Granarolo and Cantina Antinori, pillars of the food and beverage production and marketing.

For the Supercars, Superbikes, and Motorsports track, after the visits to Dallara, Ferrari, and Lamborghini, names that need no introduction, this year there will be a visit to the Ducati Museum and the Ducati factory, the icon of motorcycling. In addition, a meeting with the Scuderia Alpha Tauri is scheduled at the Autodromo Internazionale Enzo and Dino Ferrari in Imola, the flagship of sustainability in motorsport.

Moreover, for the Green Energy and Sustainable Business track, visits are organized to the Marini – Fayat Group, a leading manufacturer of bituminous conglomerate equipment, and to Ferrovie R&D at the San Donato circuit, Europe’s first equipped laboratory and cutting-edge technology hub of the Italian railway network.

It is essential, today, that higher education programs stay connected to the business world. With the Company Visits, Bologna Business School offers another opportunity for Global MBA students to combine study, networking, and direct contact with companies.
