I was born in New York in 1971. Following an academic role as a contract professor at the University of Ferrara, where I taught satellite remote sensing techniques and Geographic Information Systems (GIS), I co-founded Geotema Srl in 2004 — one of the university’s first official spin-offs.

In 2010, I founded G-maps to bring geospatial data and emerging augmented reality technologies to mobile platforms. The advent of wearable devices — such as smart glasses, smartwatches, and smart garments — further expanded my research interests toward extended reality (XR), exploring its potential as an intuitive interface for Industry 4.0 and 5.0 applications in industrial contexts.

In 2014, I launched Wear Srl, a startup supported by Club Italia Investimenti 2 and Aruba Spa, focusing on innovation in wearable technologies. In 2019, I co-founded Museum-MIX, a startup dedicated to using augmented reality for cultural heritage experiences, where I served as CTO.

In 2020, I became co-founder and CTO of Faentia Digital Ltd, a London-based startup helping SMEs and large enterprises worldwide navigate digital transformation. Since 2023, I have been involved in integrating LLMs and generative AI into business processes. Most recently, in 2024, I co-founded Skillsphere Srl, a startup designed to create custom metaverse environments with AI, for the EduTech sector
