Master in HR & Organization: a company visit that transforms experience into competence

23 June 2025

Understanding how one’s professional future takes shape requires much more than traditional study: it demands exposure to real-world contexts, dialogue with seasoned professionals, and the ability to act within complex scenarios.

These were the pillars of the company visit to WExecutive – WeHunt, a key educational experience within the Master in HR & Organization at Bologna Business School.

A stimulating environment for hands-on learning

The event took place at Villa Clelia in Bologna, the headquarters of the host company. Participants, guided by Program Directors Ludovico Bullini Orlandi and Claudia Manca, engaged in high-intensity training activities: group case studies, roleplay sessions, direct interaction with industry professionals, and open dialogue with alumni who are now part of the WExecutive – WeHunt team.

Interactive Workshop: from theory to practice

The core of the day was a workshop designed to simulate the real-world challenges of executive search and recruitment. For Stoina Nikolova, a Master’s student, “The most meaningful part was undoubtedly the interactive workshop – a valuable opportunity to understand the role of headhunters, how crucial it is to know the client company thoroughly, and how to identify the ideal candidate profile.”

Through team-based work, students put their knowledge to the test by applying it in a realistic context under time constraints. “It was much more complex than what we usually do in class,” Stoina shared. “We experienced the full selection process – from the initial screening based on hard skills to the more in-depth assessment of soft skills – simulating an authentic decision-making scenario.”

The value of meeting Alumni

Another key moment was the exchange with Bologna Business School alumni now working at WExecutive. As Stoina noted, “Meeting them was inspiring. They shared the company culture they experience every day with transparency and passion – a culture based on collaboration, motivation, and a genuine approach to professional challenges.”

A strategic vision of human resources

The experience also offered an opportunity to reflect on future career goals. “I started this Master with a clear vision: to help companies value people as a strategic lever,” Stoina concluded. “Experiences like this strengthen my belief that, by putting employee needs at the center and fostering a motivating environment, organizations can achieve real and lasting results.”

Skills in action

The workshop was a unique opportunity to put into practice the organizational skills, analytical capabilities, and soft skills developed during the Master’s program in a setting that mirrors the dynamics of the real workplace. The presence of alumni made the transition from classroom to company tangible, reinforcing the connection between academic training and employability.

Values that make the difference

The day highlighted core values of Bologna Business School: hands-on experience, interdisciplinary interaction, and connection with industry champions. These values translate into action, and in experiences like this, they reveal their power to generate meaningful impact for participants.

Those who choose Bologna Business School are active protagonists in building a tailored educational path – one that not only prepares but empowers them to act. At Villa Clelia, human resources were not just discussed: they were experienced, managed, and transformed into strategy.
