The Smart Week at BBS: an Unforgettable Experience

14 June 2024

The Smart Week of the Hybrid Master in Business Administration IV Edition at Bologna Business School offered participants a week full of engaging and educational events. The objective? To allow participants of one of BBS‘s most innovative programs, with a formula designed to perfectly balance work and study commitments, to interact with successful business leaders, deepen their understanding of the topics covered in the courses, meet, and network.

This year’s Smart Week once again saw the active participation of students in numerous stimulating activities. On Monday, June 3rd, the day began with a visit to HAVI Italia, where students participated in a plant tour and attended a speech that provided valuable insights into the company’s business operations and strategies. After a break at BBS‘s historic Villa Guastavillani, students attended a presentation by Marco Bubani, Innovation Director at VEM Sistemi, who shared his valuable experiences in the ITC sector. The evening concluded with a cooking class in the heart of Bologna, at Accademia Portici, which created the perfect atmosphere for an engaging team-building moment.

Tuesday, June 4th, was dedicated to a hackathon, a challenge that involved students in collaborative and competitive activities, testing their problem-solving and innovation skills. Wednesday, June 5th, featured a rich program of interviews with successful alumni. The day started with an interview with Jessica Galantucci, Sales & Business Development Director at Inxpect S.p.A., who shared her professional experiences and offered valuable advice to potential future colleagues. Following this, Davide Uberti, Client Success and Partner Sales Director at Unobravo, recounted his career path and strategies for success in the business world. After the lunch break, Smart Week concluded with a motivational speech by Davide Lamma, a former basketball player and current coach and sports manager, who inspired students to strive for excellence and innovation in their professional and personal lives.

Prof. Franco Visani, Academic Director of the Master’s program, commented: “Smart Week represents a unique opportunity for our students to put into practice what they have learned, by meeting managers and entrepreneurs, visiting companies, and dealing with specific business cases. It also includes enjoyable activities that promote interaction. Through events like Smart Week, Bologna Business School reaffirms its commitment to offering unique experiences, where tailored educational paths are built, perfectly combining theoretical knowledge and practical application.”
