Until the 13th of March 2016 our Community can benefit from a special price to have a guided tour of the exhibition Guido Reni and the Carracci. An awaited return. Bolognese Masterpieces from the Capitoline Museums, in Palazzo Fava.
Thanks to our partnership with Genus Bononiae, Museums in the City together with the Sport and Culture Department of Rome and the Capitoline Superintendence of Cultural Heritage, a special guided tour and concert has been organized to experience: Guido Reni and the Carracci, which runs until March 13. These artworks of the Emilian masters that are otherwise exclusively on display in Rome.
The special visit, organized exclusively for the BBS community, includes two tours and a concert, will be articulated as follows:
First a guided tour to discover the exhibition and the wonderful palace where it is housed : Palazzo Fava, the Exhibitions Centre with its fresco cycle dating back to 1584, it represents the first examples of the Carracci. The tour then continues in San Colombano, Tagliavini Collection where it is possible to admire the fresco realized by the Carracci’s students, Guido Reni and Domenichino, known as “La Gloriosa Gara”, a peculiar fil rouge that unites the two nearby buildings. Visitors can also stop and listen to a unique performance on the antique instruments by the Maestro Liuwe Tamminga*, who will fill the rooms with his magical notes. Liuwe Tamminga is considered one of the major specialists of 16th and 17th century Italian repertoires for organ. He is the organist of the Basilica of S. Petronio in Bologna together with Prof. Luigi Ferdinando Tagliavini, Collector of the musical instruments on display.
This special double tour and concert can be organized for groups of minimum 10 people, on the following dates:
