Jasmine di Maggio, Master in HR & Organization

4 June 2020

Jasmine di Maggio, Alumna of the Master in HR & Organization, held the role of Employee Experience Intern at the Amsterdam headquarters of ING Nederland.

With a degree in international and diplomatic sciences from the University of Forlì and a master’s degree in international security and politics, she decided to continue her training by choosing BBS. “Although I was very satisfied with the previous studies, I felt the need to deepen on a more strictly professional level the skills acquired during my course of study in order to bridge the gap between university and the world of work”.

Why BBS

I chose BBS for several reasons: first, the school was recommended to me by some former students who were satisfied with the experience and they found an interesting career. Furthermore, being interested in carrying out an internship and / or work experience abroad, BBS was among the very few schools that offered me the opportunity to attend the course I was interested in, in English, allowing me to further deepen my language skills. Last but not least, the presence of highly qualified international teachers has greatly affected my final choice.

Strengths of the Master

No doubt that the school’s greatest strength is its network with companies. Particularly strong network on regional and national territory, but also, as my experience in ING shows, at a European level. When I chose to invest in a master’s degree, my main goal was to gain further international experience and that’s exactly what I managed to do thanks to the opportunity that BBS offered me. I could not be more satisfied with my choice and my experience in ING. The partnership with AIDP is also excellent, offering the opportunity for students, not only to test themselves thanks to the project work, but above all to get to know professionals from the HR world and to start, already during the master, to build their own network directly professional.

Short and long term goals

It’s difficult to answer this question considering this particular moment. Until a few weeks ago, my goal was to stay in ING and complete the project I have been working on for the past 8 months. Unfortunately, due to the coronavirus and the impact it is having on the economy, the company has decided to freeze hiring for the time being. So currently my goal is to take advantage of the professional skills acquired and find another opportunity just as stimulating as the one offered by ING.

Tips for a future BBS student

Take advantage of the network! The school offers privileged access to companies: it is up to everyone to know how to take advantage of the opportunities.
