Osteria Francescana, owned and managed by Massimo Bottura, has been awarded as the best restaurant in the world by the World’s 50 Best Restaurants Awards for 2016.

The Osteria Francescana, was recognized as the No. 1 restaurant of the world by the World’s 50 Best Restaurants Awards, in New York. The Italian chef, Massimo Bottura, accepted the award for his three Michelin-star restaurant in Modena, Italy. The world renowned chef, who has been a faculty member of our Global MBA Food and Wine program for many editions and continues to be an active participant, recognized that “in the end, it’s all about hard work.”*

“The ingredients of this success story are, overall, the technical skills, the respect for the territory and producers, the creativity and the capacity to lead a high-level team; additionally, a strong cultural sensibility, derived from a passion for music and contemporary art, which transforms each dish in an intellectual and multisensorial experience.” This is how Massimo Bergami, Dean of the Bologna Business School, referred to this important recognition of the Italian cuisine around the world.**

The World’s 50 Best Restaurant Awards, produced by the British magazine Restaurant, distinguish the top restaurants around the globe, based on a poll of international chefs, restaurateurs, gourmands and restaurant critics part of the World’s 50 Best Restaurants Academy.
