He is Full Professor of Mechanical Industrial Plants at the School of Engineering of the University of Bologna, where he holds courses in Industrial Logistics and Maintenance of production systems. He is coordinator of the course of Management Engineering at the University of Bologna. He carries out his activity in the design and management of industrial plants, operations and industrial logistics, reliability of complex systems and maintenance of production systems. He has coordinated several collaboration contracts with private companies, public companies, national and international research bodies.
Operations module will give to students the necessary skillset to understand which will be the principal evolutions of the field in the next years, so to be able to anticipate, face and benefit from those transformational changes. The course will also include a strong contamination from real world, in terms of advanced technologies (provided both from corporates and startups), new business models and real cases of innovation in the field.
The course focuses on issues related to the management of materials along the supply chain, from suppliers to distribution channels. In this regard, they have a vital role. Managerial and organizational decisions made about the relationships with external companies with which we relate to, are the focal point of the course. In analyzing the vertical relationships between firms, the course seeks to develop: sensitivity to the Strategic Importance of the reports, the technical and managerial knowledge needed to deal with the decisions in the matter and organizational skills needed to manage them.
