Silvia Mirri is an assistant professor of Computer Science at the University of Bologna, at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering. She holds a Bachelor Degree, a Master Degree, and a Ph.d. degree in Computer Science awarded by the University of Bologna in 2002, 2003, and 2007 respectively. Starting from 2008, she has taught many different courses, such as Multimedia Systems and Web Technologies. Currently, she teaches Web Applications and Services at the Master Degree in Computer Science and Engineering (Cesena), Computer Science Applied to Cultural Heritage at the International Master Degree in Science for Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage (Ravenna), and Computer Science Applied to Environmental Science at the Bachelor Degree in Environmental Science (Ravenna). She was a visiting researcher at the University of Toronto (Ontario, Canada) in 2008 and at the UCLA (California, USA) in 2010. Her research interests include: Human Computer Interaction (HCI), Human-Smart Object Interaction, social media sensing, accessibility of content, services and devices (with specific regards to e-learning contexts, multimedia systems, Web and mobile content and services). She has authored more than 100 papers, out of which 25 on renowned Internal Journals. She has organized and chaired several International Conferences and Workshops and she served as Program and Scientific Committee members of many international conferences and workshops. She has been involved in several research projects (at regional, national, and international level), coordinating some transfer of technology projects as principal investigator.
